Galant, ... c'est
la chanson traditionnelle québécoise au féminin. Pourtant
fort présentes dans la tradition québécoise mais trop rares
et timides sur nos scènes actuelles, les voix féminines font enfin
surface. Depuis madame Bolduc, plusieurs ont pourtant pris la parole mais c'est
avec une toute nouvelle expression que les filles de « Galant, tu perds
ton temps » nous interpellent. Des voix, oui mais aussi beaucoup de talents
réunis et une attention particulière à actualiser la parole
à travers la tradition vivante. Il y a longtemps que je voulais vous
présenter ce disque en espérant que vous aurez le même plaisir
que moi à le découvrir.
Galant, ... is a group of all female singers of Québec traditional song.
Women have always held an important role in the transmission of the Québec
song repertoire yet they were often too shy to perform on stage. Finally, an
all women's group singing traditional songs has appeared. Since Madam Bolduc,
many have taken the stage but Galant, tu perds ton temps has arrived with a
whole new female approach. Joining their voices and talent together, they have
added a modern aspect to the song texts through this living tradition. I have
been waiting a long time to present this recording to you in hopes that you
will enjoy it as much as I do.
