Tess LeBlanc est originaire de Moncton au Nouveau-Brunswick et elle vit
à Québec depuis plusieurs années. Gigueuse dans le
plus pur style du Cap-Breton, joueur de bodhran accomplie, elle possède
aussi une voix remarquable avec laquelle elle interprète aussi bien
des chansons traditionnelles en gaélique, en anglais et en français.
Elle a réalisé un enregistrement magnifique (au sudio du rrg
4 avec André Marchand), à la mesure de son talent et à
l'image de ses goûts et de ses diverses influences celtiques. 
Pour
ce faire, elle s'est entourée d'amis (dont Éric Favreau, Liette
Remon et Paul Marchand), des musiciens chevronnés dont on doit ici
souligner l'excellente collaboration. Tess nous transmet toute sa maturité
musicale à travers des chansons qui semblent lui appartenir depuis
son enfance.
Tess LeBlanc, originally from Moncton, New Brunswick, has been living in Québec for many years. A terrific step dancer (Cape Breton style) and bodhran player, she also has a beautiful voice with which she sings songs in French and English as well as in Gaelic. This magnificent CD clearly reflects her talent and repertoire which has been coloured by a variety of Celtic influences. She is surrounded by excellent musicians (including Éric Favreau, Liette Remon and Paul Marchand as well as many others) who altogether contribute to making this a very high quality production, which was recorded at the Studio du rang 4 with André Marchand. Tess presents many songs which she has known for a long time with great musical maturity.

Tess Leblanc nous revient avec un nouveau CD à la hauteur de
son talent; une production qui donne aussi une nouvelle perspective sur
ses nombreuses influences musicales. Les chansons traditionnelles québécoises
y occupent une place importante mais on retrouve aussi des chansons d'origine
acadienne et varié. Elle s'est entourée de musiciens chevronnés et dynamiques:
Éric Beaudry, Pat
rick Graham, Stéphanie Lépine, François Marion, Dana Whittle,
Sébastien Dionne, Éric Favreau, et Denis Fréchette viennent tour à tour habiller
un répertoire soigneusement choisi. Non seulement cette production est-elle
de grande qualité mais ce disque a été longuement mûri et ce n'est pas
un hasard si on a immédiatement le goût de la réécouter. C'est aussi un disque
unique qui donne une autre dimension aux chansons traditionnelles le tout teinté
aux couleurs de l'automne 2001.
Tess Leblanc is back with a new CD true to her talent. This wonderful production also gives a new perspective on her numerous musical influences. An important place is given to songs from the traditional Québec repertoire but we also find a variety of Acadian songs as well as other Celtic influences. She is surrounded by very dynamic excellent musicians: Éric Beaudry, Patrick Graham, Stéphanie Lépine, François Marion, Dana Whittle, Sébastien Dionne, Éric Favreau, and Denis Fréchette in various combinations take turns backing up this carefully chosen repertoire. Not only is this production of the highest quality but it has been in the works for quite some time. It makes sense that after a first listening, you just want to play it again and again. This CD is a one of a kind, adding another dimension to traditional songs, embellished with the colours of autumn.
