Bouchard vient de Matane en Gaspésie, une région qui nous a donné
de nombreux musiciens et particulièrement des accordéonistes réputés.
Produit en 1998, André avait réalisé un disque à l'avant
garde en choisissant de présenter entièrement ses propres compositions.
Virtuose du petit accordéon, André est aussi un excellent pianiste
et contrebassiste et il a donc aussi réalisé ses propres accompagnements.
André utilise des accordéons une rangée en ré, en
do et en la en plus d'une accordéon trois rangées (sol, do, fa).
On réalise rapidement la profondeur et la diversité de cet excellent
enregistrement ainsi que la relation étroite avec la grande tradition québécoise
de l'accordéon. Avec les Denis Pépin, Stéphane Landry, Gaston

Bouchard hails from Matane, on the Gaspé peninsula. This region has produced
numerous musicians, especially great accordion players. Released in 1998, André
took an "avant garde" approach by choosing to present only his own compositions.
A virtuoso on the accordion, André is also an excellent piano and bass
player enabling him to provide all his own back up on this CD! André plays
one-row accordions in D, C and A as well as a three-row accordion (G, C, F). We
quickly realize the depth and diversity of this excellent, high-quality recording
and the close relationship he has with the great tradition of Québec accordion
players. To the long list of great accordion players like Denis Pépin,
Stéphane Landry, Gaston Nolet, Marcel Messervier, Raynald Ouellet, Philippe
